The easiest setup

For YouTube, choose YouTube when creating the room—no extension is needed. For another eligible HTML5 player, open the video in its own tab, tap “Copy setup code” in the room, open the Vela extension on the video tab, paste, and press “Connect this video.”

The player will not start

Tap the player once to satisfy browser autoplay rules. Confirm that every participant opened the same content with their own authorized account.

The extension cannot see a player

Copy a fresh setup code if two minutes passed. Approve access for the current site, wait for the video to appear, then choose “Select video player.” Protected, DRM, or cross-origin players may be inaccessible; use the room’s manual-sync option.

Privacy or deletion help

Use the support contact shown on Vela’s Chrome Web Store listing. Include only the room code and approximate date—never send a provider password, cookie, or video URL.

Voice echoes

Use headphones, enable browser echo cancellation, and avoid running the room audio in two tabs on the same device.
